Spoilers from Ausiello
Question: How about kicking off the New Year with a House scoop? —Christopher Ausiello: I’m hearing something about a marriage proposal coming in the second half of the season. Also, remember House’s loony bin lay, Lydia? There’s buzz she may get a shout-out in the upcoming episode directed by Hugh Laurie. Let’s hope Cuddy isn’t within earshot!

The producers of House are apparently considering airing a new wedding plot on the show.
The season five finale saw Cameron and Chase - played by Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer respectively - tie the knot, and producers are reportedly toying with the idea of another pair of characters getting hitched.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a marriage proposal will feature in the second half of the drama's sixth season, which currently airs Monday nights on Fox.
Cuddy and Lucas are currently the only couple on the show following Thirteen and Foreman's breakup last year and Jennifer Morrison's departure from the series, which marked the end of Cameron and Chase's marriage.

If you attend the Fox TCA party, don’t forget to ask about Jennifer Morrison’s status on ‘House,’ please. – axeldry via Twitter “If” I attend the Fox party? Like I’d ever skip that swell bash. When I chatted up Lisa Edelstein, I asked if we might see Jennifer again before this season is up. She confidently said, “I think so, yeah,” agreeing with me that Chase’s wife wouldn’t simply run away and stay away forever.
I’d like to know when Lucas (Michael Weston) is leaving ‘House.’ I want Cuddy with House, so I hope he will not stay until the end of the season! – Isa Think of it this way: “Luddy” may be GOOD for “Huddy” when all is said and done. “I see it as a valid relationship that Cuddy needs to have to sort out whether or not she can have that sort of relationship, with a guy who’s nice, helps take care of her kid, shows up and isn’t challenging or complicated,” Lisa Edelstein says. So, this could be a case of the nice guy finishing last? “Maybe so,” Lisa allowed. “But I haven’t seen what happens.”

'House' scoop: Jesse Spencer on Jennifer Morrison's exit and possible return by Michael Ausiello
After spending the last couple years on the sidelines, Jesse Spencer is back in the thick of things on House. In this season’s first four months alone Chase separated from his wife, murdered an African dictator, physically assaulted his boss, and took his sometimes-miserable old job back. And Jesse Spencer has been loving every minute of it. “Season 6 has been awesome,” he told me last night at Fox’s press tour party. “They’ve been writing some really good stuff for me. It’s been pretty dark, but really fun to play.”
In the following video interview, Spencer discusses the the new energy on the set, the loss of his leading lady, Jennifer Morrison, and the possibility that she might return at some point. And keep watching to see what Spencer’s co-stars, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson, have to say about the show’s newest couple: Thaub.

'House' exclusive: Jennifer Morrison returns! by Michael Ausiello
She’s baaaaaaaack!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jennifer Morrison is heading back to House later this season. The timing and context of her return are being kept under wraps (read: I know but it’s too spoilery to reveal), but a House insider says, “You will see Cameron again on House before the end of the season.”
Morrison recently joined the Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker. It’s possible the actress will squeeze in her House comeback before the play starts previews next month. It’s also possible she will use one of her dark days (typically Monday) to fly out to L.A. and work on the show.
But enough about the boring logistics, Cameron’s coming back (just as I said she might)! React away in the comments! And then re-watch my Jesse Spencer interview from Monday night and look for clues that he knew all along. If you can’t find any, look again, because they’re there.
Toujours from Ausiello..
Question: When is House going to change its opening title sequence to add Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson? They’ve had the same opening since the beginning. —Anonymous Ausiello: In spite of your funny name, or perhaps because of it, I asked exec producer Katie Jacobs for you. Her reply: “In season 4, people said, ‘Are you going to change the credits once you decide on who you are adding to the team?’ and I felt like it was awkward to switch in the middle of the season. I could have done it season 5. I certainly didn’t want to change anything [at the start of season 6] because we opened so differently. But now I am thinking about it. I think they should be part of it.” Olivia, Peter, you can send your thank-you notes directly to Anonymous. Question: Please tell us something about Jennifer Morrison returning to House! —Amy Ausiello: I should’ve seen it coming! Here’s what Omar Epps told us about JMo’s exit and possible comeback last week at the People’s Choice Awards: “I definitely miss her… I certainly didn’t see it coming. I don’t think anyone did. She is a great person and I’d gotten used to seeing her most days of the year. [But] she is not officially gone. It isn’t like they killed her off. And even if they had, we’ve already had a dead person come back with Amber. So there is still a possibility.” The clues were everywhere!

Une interview de Katie Jacobs, avec spoilers!
'House's' Katie Jacobs: 'I love Cameron too. I don't feel like I'm finished with that character.' By Korbi Ghosh
January 14, 2010 6:00 AM
That's what I gathered from the conversation I had with "House" executive producer Katie Jacobs this week. As you'll see in the clip below, Jacobs acknowledged that Chase and Cameron are still legally married and that there's definitely story to resolve there.
Regarding Jennifer Morrison's departure from the show, Jacobs said, "We were not actually writing the character out. To us, it was the fallout in her relationship with Chase, which felt right to us."
And, apparently, it also feels right to have Morrison return this season. Jacobs talked about Morrison's current commitment to doing a play in New York and said that she and show creator David Shore told Jennifer that if she found another project she's passionate about, they didn't want to stand in her way, but that doesn't mean she won't be appearing on "House" again soon.
"Cameron is very much, in terms of the thinking, part of the world," Jacobs explained. "She's separate right now from Princeton Plainsboro and from Chase and House, but to me, she's part of the big world... I hate to disappoint fans and I love Cameron too and I don't feel like I'm finished with that character. I would certainly love to see her back this season."
Something else Jacobs seems to love? Huddy.
The executive producer directly addressed House-Cuddy fans in the clip below, talking quite a bit about the upcoming Cuddy-centric episode titled "5 to 9" and admitting that House and Cuddy have a spark like no other.
Though Cuddy's current flame Lucas is working for them and will be sticking around for some time, Jacobs seems to empathize with House-Cuddy fans and says she feels the same way about the pair as they do.
See for yourself...

FOX confirmed Thursday (Jan. 14) that Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) will indeed be returning to "House" later this season, and though no details about when or why her character will come back have been released, there are a few rumors floating around.
Sources tell Zap2it that Morrison may be on set as early as Friday and is scheduled to work through the weekend.
Word is, Cameron and her on-screen husband Chase (Jesse Spencer) will be featured heavily in the episode and that star Hugh Laurie is set to direct.
FOX wouldn't confirm this bit of information, but if Morrison is in fact on set this week, she will definitely be following Mr. Laurie's lead. Executive producer Katie Jacobs mentioned in an interview with me earlier this week that she had just come from a casting session for the hour Hugh is helming.
Intriguing, no?
But what's even more intriguing is the storyline the "House" writers have apparently concocted for Morrison's "swan song." I'm not saying we'll never ever see Cameron again. I'm simply saying that it sounds as if this particular ep will make up for the hurried manner in which she exited the show earlier this season.
And I'll leave it at that, because based on what I've been told, it is going to be a phenomenal, emotional, heartbreaking and beautiful hour of television. In other words, "House" at its best, and I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone.

Laurie to Direct Last Cameron Episode on 'House'? Sunday, January 17, 2010
Glenn Diaz Staff Writer, BuddyTV
It seems plausible. After all, House executive producer Katie Jacobs assured us previously that the House episode that its main guy Hugh Laurie is directing is not a "traditional" one. Everyone's been putting their money on a Huddy-centric episode, but now that Fox has confirmed that Jennifer Morrison is set to return to House for a final hurrah, people have been changing their bets.
And true enough, Zap2it reports that the episode Laurie will direct just might heavily feature the not-so-happy couple Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Cameron (Morrison). Everything is pretty much under wraps, however, including the special episode's premise and major plot points.
We can take solace in the teeny hint that Jacobs revealed to Entertainment Weekly. The House big boss said that the episode, the 17th this season with a March airdate, will have a "different" format.
First thing that comes to mind, of course, is this season's kick off, which saw House inside an asylum. All of House's regulars except House and Wilson (Peter Sean Leonard) were present on the two-hour premiere, no patient of the week and everything.
Someone has already been cast for the episode, since filming might commence soon (Morrison will be occupied soon with Broadway's The Miracle Worker). Oscar nominee Oscar Strathairn, who was recently in The Bourne Ultimatum and critically acclaimed Good Night, and Good Luck, will check in to Princeton Plainsboro as a patient who has some pretty intense scene with the nutty doctor.
Jacobs revealed that Laurie himself picked the 60-year-old actor for the role. "Hugh really wanted him to play the role and David responded."

Jennifer Morrison on Coming Back
No one will say exactly when or for how long Jennifer Morrison will be returning to House as Dr. Cameron, perhaps because they don't yet know themselves. "You'll see her before the end of this season, and next season we'll figure out when this season is over," says executive producer Katie Jacobs.
Jennifer, who wowed on the red carpet in a one of a kind gown by Puerto Rican designer Luis Antonio (a Christmas gift from her boyfriend), says news of her return so soon after her dismissal came as "a pleasant surprise. I totally understood when (the producers) let me know that they didn't plan on continuing writing for my character, so if something else was offered I'd be available to do it. I have to look at this as everything happens for a reason. House will always be a home for me. I just want to be wherever I'm wanted and needed."
Co-star Lisa Edelstein, who plays Dr. Cuddy, couldn't be happier. "I love Jennifer," she says. "It was very hard to watch that happen to her so I'm very excited to see her come back."
So where has Cam been and what brings her back? "She's been practicing medicine at another hospital," says Jacobs. "There are certain things that are unresolved with Chase (Jesse Spencer), so she comes back seeking some sort of resolution. Whether it's good or bad I won't say."
Series creator David Shore warns fans, "There will be a different connection between her and Chase because of the absence."

'House' scoop: Jennifer Morrison on 'resolution' for Cameron and returning next season by Michael Ausiello
This may not entirely appease House fans frustrated by Cameron’s abrupt exit earlier this season, but it’s bound to help: Jennifer Morrison’s imminent comeback, she hints, should give her character, and viewers, closure.
“The audience is going to get the information they were looking for,” says the actress, who declined to confirm the exact length or timing of her return except to tease that it occurs during a ”really smart episode.”
As for the circumstances surrounding her surprising departure, Morrison is more forthcoming, eager to make it clear that the decision to leave was not hers. “I love the show, and I love [Cameron],” she insists. “Under no circumstances would I ever decide on my own to leave.”
So what happened? She recounts: Executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs “came to me as we were leading up to episode 8 — which is the episode where I left — and said, ‘This is where we see the show creatively going, and [we're writing you out].’ And they very generously said, ‘We wanted to let you know so you knew you were available for other things, should they be offered.’ As far as I knew, there was nothing more.”
Opportunity ended up knocking on Morrison’s door soon after: She was cast in the Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker. And “right around the same time, [Shore and Jacobs] had an idea to [bring] some resolution to Cameron’s storyline. So very generously as well, the play has accommodated my missing some rehearsal time to do the show.”
And what about the future beyond the play, which will run at least through the spring? Although Morrison remains contractually bound to House next season, “I don’t believe that they have plans to pick up my option,” she confesses. “That does not mean I won’t be back for a handful of episodes, but it does mean I probably will not be a series regular next season.”
Naturally, looking back on her six-year run is bittersweet for her. But more sweet than bitter, it seems. “[Working on House has] been the most incredible blessing I could ever imagine,” she says. It’s been the most incredible people to work with and the most incredible character. But I have to respect the producers’ ideas of where the story is going.”

Montserrat in Glendale, Calif.: Please tell me this Cuddy-Lucas liaison is almost over on House. I can't stand it anymore! OK, the bad news is that next Monday's House ep, "5 to 9," is Cuddy-centric and therefore riddled with Cuddy-Lucas PDA. Blech. On the other hand, the good news is that "5 to 9" is Cuddy-centric and therefore riddled with scenes that reveal House and Cuddy's genuine emotional and psychological intimacy, and that remind us fans why she loves that dude's deranged narcissistic ass in the first place. If you Huddy fans can just squint through the Cuddy-Lucas scenes, you'll find that when you come out the other side, the Huddy material is very rewarding. Pete in Phoenix: Give me an update on House, stat! Look for actor-comedian Orlando Jones to pop up in tonight's House, bringing along a few surprises for his brother, Foreman (Omar Epps). We checked into reports that Orlando will possibly be back on a full-time basis next year, but a House rep tells us that the writers don't yet know anything past this season. So for now, Foreman's big bro is only expected to show up once.

How many “Luddy” scenes are there in next week’s Cuddy-centric ‘House‘? How long do they total, in minutes? – House_Alias via Twitter It’s funny you should speak of minutes, because one thing to come out of the episode is the sad fact that ol’ Lucas is a “two-minute man” – and at the worst time, too. A few other tidbits from the very engaging, Lisa Edelstein-tastic hour: Cuddy has Isabel Allendes’ ‘Inés of My Soul’ on her nightstand; she starts her day off with yoga (and is very bendy); and she’s as obsessive with her Blackberry as I am with mine. “Huddy” fans, meanwhile, may enjoy Cuddy’s reaction to House getting a shirtless rubdown by a buxom blonde. One final note: The episode ends with a montage set to Mary Chapin Carpenter’s ‘Passionate Kisses,” which features the lyric, “I want a full house.” Clue?

Lost grad Cynthia Watros has found herself one hell of a plum role on House.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Emmy-winning actress has been cast as Wilson’s first ex-wife (he’s had three) who comes back into his life as his new girlfriend.
And this isn’t some passing fling. I’m told Watros is on board for multiple episodes, the first of which is slated to air in April. This marks the first significant romantic entanglement for House’s BFF since the death of Amber nearly two years ago. Thoughts?! Are you as psyched about this as I am? ‘Cause I’m pretty psyched.

Scoop: ‘Prison Break’ Beauty Makes ‘House’ Call by Matt Webb Mitovich Feb 9th, 2010 | 9:20 PM
‘Prison Break’ alumna Sarah Wayne Callies has landed a new Fox gig – only this time she won’t be playing doctor, but acting as a patient.
Callies will turn up on an upcoming episode of the hit medical drama ‘House,’ sources tell Fancast, guest-starring as a Princeton Plainsboro patient who happens to be in an open marriage. You can almost hear House’s naughty commentary already.
Callies played Dr. Sara Tancredi throughout much of ‘Prison Break’s four-season run, save for a stretch where her alter ego was believed to have died after a decapitation.
She also appeared in ‘Prison Break: The Final Break,’ a standalone made-for-DVD movie that took place prior to the series’ shocking coda.
Callies’ episode of ‘House’ will air sometime this spring.

'House' boss on Huddy: 'It's going to happen' by Michael Ausiello
The prognosis on Huddy is in, and it’s excellent.
I just hung up with House creator David Shore, and — no beating around the bush here — he promised me, “Eventually, it’s going to happen. This is the thing we’ve been dancing around — even before we knew we were dancing around it. They’re two very flawed people, but they’re two people that are very attracted to each other.
“I’m a Huddy fan, [too],” Shore added. “Just keep watching the show. It’ll happen eventually.”
I can confirm that there was not a single qualifier in that sentence. I listened to the tape three times. Not a single “maybe” or “possibly” in there. Go ahead and reread it; I’ll wait.
Coincidentally, Shore also happens to be in the middle of breaking this season’s final episodes. Could it possibly culminate with real, non-hallucinatory lovemaking? My gut is telling me yes.
What’s yours saying? And do you worry that when Huddy finally does happen, a part of you might actually miss the waiting game we (and they!) have been playing for so long? Debate, discuss, deliberate below.

House and Cuddy Romance a Go in Season 6 Finale of ‘House M.D.’ Creator David Shore says Huddy will eventually happen
By Elena Gorgan, Life & Style Editor February 15th, 2010, 15:56 GMT
Fox’s hit medical series, “House M.D.” is nearing the last episodes of season 6 and many fans are still wondering about whether the Huddy romance, between House and Cuddy, will eventually take place. Speaking with Michael Ausiello of The Ausiello Files, series creator David Shore says the couple will eventually get to live in real (scripted for television) life what occurred only in House’s mind at the end of last season.
There is no “maybe” and no “perhaps” to that: Dr. Lisa Cuddy and Dr. Gregory House will eventually get to be romantically involved, Shore says. What’s more, chances are very high this might actually happen in the final episodes of the ongoing season – or so Ausiello seems to think. Given that he’s very well connected both with official and unofficial sources all over the place, he might actually be right when he says fans will get a Huddy romance in the upcoming episodes.
“The prognosis on Huddy is in, and it’s excellent. I just hung up with House creator David Shore, and – no beating around the bush here – he promised me, ‘Eventually, it’s going to happen. This is the thing we’ve been dancing around – even before we knew we were dancing around it. They’re two very flawed people, but they’re two people that are very attracted to each other. I’m a Huddy fan, [too],’ Shore added. ‘Just keep watching the show. It’ll happen eventually’,” Ausiello writes after speaking to Shore.
There’s even more, as the relationship might actually start in the final episodes of season 6, Ausiello argues. “I can confirm that there was not a single qualifier in that sentence. I listened to the tape three times. Not a single ‘maybe’ or ‘possibly’ in there. […] Coincidentally, Shore also happens to be in the middle of breaking this season’s final episodes. Could it possibly culminate with real, non-hallucinatory lovemaking? My gut is telling me yes,” Ausiello explains.
Of course, this is not the first time that talk of Huddy becoming a real couple arises. Last year, for instance, before the season premiere, the same Shore was telling Ausiello that, for the time being, producers had decided to step away from the idea of the romance because it simply did not fit in the larger scheme of things. If Ausiello’s prediction turns out to be true, it could be that the time for Huddy to come into being has come.

Question: Will House try to break up Wilson and his new/old girlfriend on House? —Nikki Ausiello: And how. As series creator David Shore explains, “This isn’t just House being protective of Wilson, this is him being protective of Wilson against somebody who arguably knows Wilson as well as House does. And I think that’s what makes the scenes [between Hugh Laurie and Cynthia Watros] so interesting. You have these two people who apparently care about Wilson, although they’ve both made some dramatic mistakes in that regard, kind of fighting over him.”
Question: Do you have any more details about Cynthia Watros’ character on House aside from her being Wilson’s first ex-wife? —Gavin Ausiello: Her name is Dr. Sam Carr, her area of expertise is radiology, and she’s “smart, capable, and a little offbeat,” says David Shore. “Anyone who is going to be involved with Wilson is going to be a little bit different. We wanted her to be worthy of Wilson’s strengths and worthy of Wilson’s weaknesses.”

Exclusive: Will Watros' 'House' call be extended? by Michael Ausiello
House may soon be Cynthia Watros’ permanent home.
The once-and-future Lost star doesn’t kick off her multi-episode arc as Wilson’s first ex-wife and new girlfriend until April 19, but series creator David Shore says he’s already toying with the idea of keeping her around long-term. “We’re talking about that,” he tells me. “It depends what’s going to give us the most bang for our buck dramatically.”
With Jennifer Morrison not expected to return next season as a regular, the show will be down one female. Shore, however, insists the equation doesn’t hinge on numbers. “When good people come on and they work out, we try and make it work longer,” he insists. “It’s ultimately about the storylines.”
One telltale sign that Shore might have big plans for Watros: He made her character, Sam Carr, a doctor, partly to keep her future job prospects at Princeton Plainsboro open. But, he adds, “It wasn’t just that.”
For his part, Robert Sean Leonard can already picture his new leading lady in the cast photo. “I like how she fits into the picture with Hugh [Laurie] and Lisa [Edelstein],” he says. “Cynthia is amazing, and we’re lucky to have her.”
Watros is certainly happy to be had. “I would love to [stick around],” says the actress, a Daytime Emmy winner for her stint as Guiding Light’s loco Nurse Annie. “To be able to call this show home would be fantastic. But you know how this business works. There are so many factors that go into whether it’s a permanent thing. I’m just enjoying what I have now and feeling very lucky.”
What do you think? Should House invite Watros to stay before someone else steals her away (I just rhymed!)? Sound off below! And then run out and pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly to get an exclusive first look of Watros’ Sam!
